The house sits on a heavily wooded lot, the surrounding landscape providing privacy for the broad east and west elevations. The central living space is a two-story volume which opens to the landscape on each side. To the east, the slight curve of the living room wall helps to define the outdoor deck area; to the west, secondary volumes containing bedrooms, a study tower, and a detached garage enclose a landscaped lawn area which includes a swimming pool.
